Thumbs up TIME FOR A CHANGE… Big Time !!

The following post from " Justified " ( on another forum ) jogged my memory and moved me to add my 2 cents worth! Springerman

In power forever.
Peter Lougheed and the PC'smust have seemed like wild eyed radicals compared to the entrenched Social Credit.
It was a time for change then and it is a time for change now.
Justified

I have to agree with Justified …TIME FOR A CHANGE… Big Time !!

I was there for the start of the PC dynasty. I got transferred to Calgary from Winnipeg in 1967 right after getting my CA degree. The head Honcho of the company turned out to be Peter Lougheed`s campaign manager. Most of my free time was assigned to working on Lougheed`s & Merv Letich`s Campaigns & full time during elections campaigns.
They got 7 seats in the 1st election and then swept into power in 1971.
To me this election seems like 1971 all over again , the Socreds needed their diapers changed , but people were scared of change and the Socreds were fear mongering and saying the PC`s didn`t have the experience or knowledge to govern the province.
We put up a good fight but even my Boss hedged his bet, as Lougheed`s Campaign Manager. As comptroller of the Company he had me issue a donation of $1,500 to the PC`s and $1,000 to the Socreds. Everyone was saying the PC`s wouldn`t win.
We won in a landslide and the rest is history. I still remember the Victory Party!!

I starting losing faith during Stelmach`s tenor and it has been downhill ever since!

I am no longer involved with any Party and I was intrigued with Prentice when he was made party leader but to me he has shown himself to be same old, same old, as all the rest,

1) No need to call an election as he had had strong mandate for another year.
2) Is undemocratic as he tried to gut the only good opposition we have had in a long time. He thought he could get complete power for another 4 years so he could do whatever he wanted to.
3) Too arrogant to listen to the electorate, who didn`t want an election.
To me the NDP will spend us into more & more debt, which our kids & grand kids will never be able to repay. We are already living over our means.
On the other hand Jean came from a very poor home and through hard work, their family built a very successful business in Fort Mac, lessons learned in our early life have a tendency to stick with us in later life. Just Saying !!!!!!!!!!

Please think hard before voting!! But please VOTE !!!
THANKS!

Lucky Guy ^ ...

In spite of all three of me going to the voting station (me, myself, and I), they only let me vote once.

Be careful, be very careful! It may be a tricky question: if you vote wrong, you might end up in Siberia as well, they have a nice camp there called Gulag.
