Suspect Shot Dead By RCMP
One car thief won't reoffend, it's too bad the courts still have to deal with his partner.

I’m glad no members of the RCMP or the public were injured. If I wasn’t paying attention the truck would have hit me head-on at probably 90 km /hr in Lloydminster. By the looks of where the investigation is, the suspect was going down a bike/walking path. There is 2 longterm care hospitals and a retirement condo all right where it happened. Lucky no one was run over!!
Thanks to the RCMP for putting there life’s at risk everyday.

Good news to start the week. One less drain on society to worry about.
Happy to hear no serious injuries to the officers involved.

Not the same crook, but...
Near where I live, after several weeks of almost daily break-ins, a well known perp was shot and killed by local RCMP. Since then? Haven't heard of much about break-ins. Go figure. Either that guy was doing all the thieving or the rest of them got the message. So there is a cure. Anyway...good shooting!

Crazy day in Lloyd the perp was driving dangerously on the wrong side of the road at high speeds and rammed the RCMP cruisers twice it's amazing no innocents were hurt.
Good job by the RC's

Good outcome if the perp was putting others lives in danger just to get a free vehicle, relieved that no one else was injured or worse. I'm sure that person and the other arrested person "were in the wrong place at the wrong time", LOL. Hopefully some of the other low life's committing these crimes in our province take notice of the result.....

Somewhere around Lloyd, a meth dealer is going to be missing one of their repeat customers...
Give that officer their well-deserved paid weeks off and send them back out with two extra magazines and some commendations.

Hardened Criminals know that the RCMP policy is that if the suspect Driver is creating a threat to the safety of other people on the road, that the Chase has to be terminated.
That is why they swerve into the oncoming lanes, and do other dangerous acts of driving to endanger other motorists. The RCMP have to terminate the chase.
In the big Cities there is usually a helicopter that gets dispatched to follow the chase vehicle, and Officers can then get in front and do a road block. That rarely happens in the country because the distances are so big.

There was a RCMP chopper involved in the chase it landed in a small park by the crashed truck.
There is no news reporting in Lloyd so most of the story gets left out in this case the local news released a statement 18 hours later.

Big Kudos to the RC's.
But let's hope there's no civil lawsuit vs the RC.

Oh that is all over Lloydminster local Facebook.
People shaming everyone else for being happy no innocents or RCMP were killed. The uproar has begun, but unlike Boushie Onion Lake is in the news daily for thefts, drugs, etc so they are trying to keep things quiet. The few liberals are screaming loud enough for everyone. Everyone else is telling them to esad.

Good on the RC's for taking care of the scum! Need more good news stories these days!
We supply the RCMP with sidearms, we pay them to practice with their side arm, it's awesome to see them start using them.

Wow,
Too bad someone had to die but better him than a member of the public and most certainly an rcmp member. Gotta be tough on the police that had to shoot him even though it had to be done

Amen, very good news. Good shooting. I would gladly buy those officers the best steak dinner in town if I ever met them. Keep up the good work.

Big Hi 5 from me to the RCMP. Hopefully our UCP's tough on crime stance is an encouragement to them. Now if only we could change out some judges in our legal system.

One down, a few thousand to go. I wonder how many future victims of crime were saved with the brave actions of that officer?
Keep up the good work.

Great job by the RCMP, one less POS that the taxpayers have to support, the female that was with him was taken into custody, unfortunately she didn't join her partner at McCaw's.

The minute this perpetrator purposefully drove into oncoming traffic endangering the public, or used his vehicle in an attempt to injury or kill officers, any and all doubts over the fairness of the ultimate outcome of this incident should be laid to rest.
I support the actions of the officers, and commend them on taking affirmative and appropriate measures to keep us all safe.

You mentioned a few thousand to go. In reality if we dealt with maybe the top 200 most prolific offenders the drop in crime would be massive.
I propose a policy of publicly executing the top 10 offenders in Alberta each new year. I’d predict it would create a real impression on the young people about consequences of decisions.

Funny how the police/RCMP can shoot at criminal and it's totally A-Okay.
But if a citizen tries to defend himself/his property from a thief, then that citizen must be punished to show him that he's not allowed to defend himself. Not without paying his dues to the judges, lawyers and Big Daddy Gov. kek

Nope.
Robert James Howard of no fixed address is the deceased.
Reading on the local groups is just sickening. I think Lloydminster is loaded with Liberal apartment dwellers with nothing to lose, they do not care at all that people are out doing drugs and robbing people with firearms, because they do not see it.
