Default Moose hair allergies ?

I bought some moose hair a while back and now I can not tie more than 4 flies at a time without having my nose all stuffed up. I am guessing I am allergic to the hair itself, but is it possible there is something else on it and if so how could I clean it so I could possibly use it again. No other hair has this effect on me.

Could be the hide, I react to whatever they do with the hide. Cut off about what you need and put the rest away and see what happens.

You can also try shampooing the hair with a mild shampoo. Makes the hair much nicer to work with, often times its the dander in the hair that triggers allergies.

X2! Dander wreaks havoc on my sinuses and there is nothing worse than sneezing or getting a sinus headache when you are trying to tie flies.
