Was at F3T yesterday and learnt that, TUC was accepted as 1 of 6 projects who are in the running for a $100,000 grant from the Shell Fuelling change project.
Their aim is to increase flows of the Mallard side channel to a stable rate by reducing sediment that has built up in the floods of 2005 and the last two high water events, hopefully increasing suitable spawning habitat.**(you can read more about the goals on the website. The overall project will cost $200,000 so this would go a long way.
They are currently in 5th.
Here are the steps.
1. Go to
http://fuellingchange.com/
2. Register at the top right, this will instantly give you 10 votes.
3. Once you are registered select the blue water tab
4. Select the $100,000 prize amount.
5. Now you should see the Mallard point project.
Additionally anytime you purchase anything from a shell store: gas, chocolate bar, pop, smokes whatever, you can go back to the website, enter your receipt number and you will get another 10 votes.
Cheers!
