Toxic broadheads not legal for hunting?
I have heard F&W are still on the fence about these broadheads being legal. Why, I don't know. Apparently Sherwood archery is supposed to be a dealer for these, but won't stock them until they get the final word.
Has anyone purchased these in-store around Edm/Alta? Has anyone heard the same?
Thanks
Marko

i cant seem to find any info on the outer diameter of these, all that I can find is almost that they have 5" of cutting surface that may be the problem, they look pretty small in the pics that i've seen. Does anyone know what their diameter is.

On the video with the water jugs, it says that the broadheads OD is 7/8".

Watching some vids and reading 70chevy's review, I think they look phenomenal, and more then adequate. I've used rage broad heads, and have nothing to complain about.
But something new is always on the menu! I would definitely buy a set, supposing I could use them for big game.

I can see where someone might confuse the true meaning of a barbed Broadhead....as this blades hook inward to a point...but they are not a true classification of barbed 90 degrees below bottom blade on ferule...

With all the other choices on the market I can't buy into the hype surrounding these broad heads.....the wheel can only be invented so many times.

Its not even a new invention LC they had a broadhead like that back in late 70's that "cored" a hole ( supposedly) thru an animal They didn't last very long I wouldn't touch these had a look at Cabela's not getting me excited

So what is a recommended hunting broadhead that all of you pro bow hunters would suggest? Don't mean to derail a thread but curious to know, thanks.

Lots of good ones out there that are tried and true. Slick Tricks, Thunderheads, Ramcats, Buzzcuts, just to name a few.

I tested them out...they fly fantastic out of my bow...even thou I couldnt get 125GR...
They destroy anything they hit..and held up well...
I have been very sucessful with my G5 Strikers 125 gr but I cant imagine the blood trail caused by the Toxic with a good hit...
I would like to try a few on deer...the elk I will stick to the Strikers until someone else convinces me...
I get a kick out of the shoulder blade or plywood critic crowd on other sites...I dont hunt either lol...and the plywood test has already been done with sucess as with most heads...
Here,s wishin the best to anyone using them this year !

I will definitely be trying mine out this year. Will Have to get a cheap target to practice with though. One hole like that in my Rinehart is good enough. Lol

Persons hunting big game must use an authorized bow and an authorized arrow. An authorized bow is one that is held, drawn and released by muscular power and has a draw weight of not less than 18 kg (40 lb.). This is the number of kilograms (pounds) required to draw an arrow of 71 cm (28 in.) to its head. An authorized arrow is one that is not less than 61 cm (24 in.) in length that has a tip that bears a head that is not intentionally designed to resist being withdrawn after it has penetrated an object. Furthermore, it must either have a solid, sharp cutting head of at least 7/8 inch in width, or a head that, when the arrow impacts, opens to present sharp cutting edges at least 7/8 inch in width.
They should be legal! But I looked at some the other day and they didn't seem very sharp and would be a pain to sharpen? maybe with a round file you might get a good edge.

They aren't as sharp as you think they would be, but they had no problem penetrating the rinehart. It was pretty much similar to the penetration of my exodus broadheads from what I could tell. Maybe i'll do a test today.

I did a penetration test in my Rinehart 18-1 and the exodus buried in about 2 inches farther. The exodus buried over 9 inches and the toxic was only over 7. Toxic definitely did more damage, but the exodus made bigger cuts.
