Bear baiting in a non bear baiting Zone

So two days ago I'm quading on my private land out to my gate I see a truck parked in my buddies field I go see what's up meet a guy and his daughter parked 5 yards from their bait site. telling me he's putting a ladder stand up for his bear bait across from my place, I tell him there's no bear baiting on this side of the highway and tell him he's too close to the houses that has no signage up he starts to question me about it he's positive he can bear bait here where do these people come from I told him to go read the regulations went in and found his bear bait today told him to leave it there and not go back in.

Take pictures of his truck plate # and him and the bait. If there are any further issues call Fish and Wildlife

Does your buddy know the person and give them access? If you dont want "these people" around call FnW otherwise there's really no reason for them not to try and push the envelope. Your talking to isn't going to correct someone who thinks they are right.

Just sounds like a misunderstanding on his part and you tried to correct him he left no big deal.

That's what I'm hoping I informed them on the regs and everything and he left unfortunately every year there's more and more and I do report it if it happens more than once

End of story.

You already gave him a chance by explaining that it was illegal, now if it was him shooting he’s broken the law while knowing about it. He has zero sympathy from me.

Just went for a walk today before I head to work no activity from where he was baiting probably shot it out in the field which is fine
