Default Telus internent with Telus Hub

Anyone here use the Telus hub for their internet service? Have a choice between that, MCS outta St Paul, and Explornet. $85 a month for 500 gbs.

Use MCSNET until CCL gets there. Telus hub sucks. Way overpriced, overpromised, underdelivered. Everyone I know with it cancelled.
MCSNET is slowly trying to play catch up with CCL, but too little too late. Do not use CCI.

Ken is it location dependant? Some people in our area say MCS and Explornet drop all the time but Telus is more consistent

It has to be but track record and reviews here is a fairly straight bell curve- MCSNET has great customer service, Telus is not so great, CCI is horrific. I can't speak to Explornet.

Telus is consistent until they run out of bandwith then they say 'oh sorry we oversold in that area, is there anything else I can do for you?'

Have had our Telus hub for about a year and it has worked well. Overpriced but here we have no choice. Paying 85 a month for 250 gigs. Can watch a lot off Netflix for that much though.

I have a buddy that bought one of the original hubs. He has unlimited data, and is not tied to a tower, can use it anywhere in Canada. They keep bugging him to go to another package, lol.

When I looked into it I thought it would be great, could use it in Rupert on the boat. Nope, tied to home tower. Dirty pool that just drives another nail into the 'not gonna use telus if at all possible' wall.

I know someone near a Telus tower and the hub works amazing, and I have heard bad things about Xplorenet.

It probably all depends on your location.

I wonder what the difference is between yours and ours? Ours works wherever we can get cell service. Had it down in Shearwater, Hartley Bay, Terrace. Another fellow we know takes his on holidays also, like your bud he also has unlimited data, they were always pestering him to change plans. He just laughs at them and tells them to have a nice day. Finally they left him alone.

Landlord has telus hub and says it works great. I will be picking one up next week to. He said that they just upgraded it from 250gb to 500 a month for $80ish bucks and i guess a tera is $120.

We are in the group that got the hub and they over sold the area. Terrible service. Have 500 gigs but can’t watch a show, web lages take forever to load, forget it if two people want to use the internet at the same time. Bad as this is Xplornet satellite was worse

We’ve had it for a few years now. Works great here. We couldn’t get service from anyone else due to location, trees etc.

My son had telus hub in Kitscoty, it was generally under 4mbps. My Mcsnet was generally 8-12 best days, under 3 some. CCL has never dropped under 40mbps and have seen 50+. Also it is unlimited, unthrottled, and 10mbps up for $85.
Lte here we only see 4-6 mbps so the hub is useless.

We had Telus hub for 2 years until we moved to the city. Worked well for us. We had explornet before that and it was terrible. I have the Hub for sale Edmonton area if you want it shoot me a message.

Right on! Thanks for the heads up. Will be looking into it on Tuesday. The wife was watching lots of Netflix when I was in camp and went over just a smidge and it was a 20 buck charge.

Have been using Telus in the Foothills for about 8 months. No real problems. I stream Netflix no problem and we have even had guests in our suite below with no issues sharing the net. That said, where I am located I have pretty good cell service, so my Telus LTE runs strong
