Wanna wager that the AJHL’s Lawyers were tasked with levying breech of contract and conduct fines against the 5 franchises listed? And when that was in the mix, the franchises did an about face!

what standing would the league have to sue these teams?

they literally just said, hey we arent gonna play in the AJHL next year.

Working a deal with another league while belonging to a league, it’s like negotiating with someone else while you are already under contract.

I’m sure there’s all sorts of rules around being granted a franchise, and being part of the AJHL.
