Default 2010 5.4l Ford f150 Anyone ever put in exhaust headers instead of manifolds?

Just wondering if anyone has the gone the header route with their f150. Wondering which headers you went with and how they've worked for you.

I did a 2007 with the 5.4L motor. In 2007 the only thing that was available at the time was the ford mustang racing header. I had the dealer do the work as it was an absolute nightmare to install them. They lasted to 2023 and I had to replace them. There are not many options right now for those older trucks and if you do go ahead with headers you going to have to pull the engine out to do the work so I went back to the stock manifold as it is just a farm truck now.

I dont think they'll be much HP gain from shorty headers, sound is about all with those. Long tube may get you some but fitment could be problematic.

Let us know if you do get some.

You will not notice any more HP with headers .Might make you feel more fuzzy and warm on the inside . Chance are you will install a new complete exhaust system with louder mufflers and that louder muffler will make you feel like you have more power ,but you really don't . You will feel it in the wallet . Lol !
Better off spending money on some off road tires or some off road lights if you do that with your truck.

Ps Messing with exhaust manifolds can lead to more troubles when you pull those bolts out of aluminum heads .

Headers made no difference i could feel on stock 302 in a 88 ford I had back in 89. I sure got used to replacing spark plug wires. Headers make a lot more heat

Unless ceramic coated. Also Eastman makes a ceramic coating you can apply inside them which makes them better & long lasting.

I put headers on my 2009 F150. I had to replace the manifolds because they were cracked. I used Gibson stainless. It was a big job trying to figure out how to get at all of the studs. The advantage I found was that the headers were more compact so was easier to install than the manifolds were to get out.
