Opening Day Bull
Had the incredible fortune to take this bull less than 2 hours into opening day. I had 3 different bulls interested 1 of which was this guy. He only answered back 1 time straight to the west of me while the other 2 were to the North. The bulls were silent for 3 days before this, but opening morning they were all fired up and answering to locater bugles. I was more focused on one of the North bulls as I had him quite fired up when this guy came sneaking in and announced his presence with a quick chuckle when he was inside 100yrds of me. Needless to say I put my full attention into him and he came to a spot where I could take a excellant shot where he dropped within 20 yrds. I've harvested a few elk in my day, but have never sealed the deal on opening morning!! A HUGE thanks to my good buddy Daryl who was instramental in helping me to get this bull....

Sure was. They were pretty excitable for a few days. Was calling for my buddy the next morning and had one come straight in on me to 10yrds UPWIND. Neither one of us was expecting that and he couldn't see the bull from his position and we could not get a shot. Expected the bull to try a get downwind of me which would have been perfect. Oh well, was a crazy few days......
