Default 3D Printing Magazines

I did a search and couldnt find anything on it being illegal in Canada to 3D print gun parts, example a magazine.

I have an older .308 Browning BLR Lever Action Rifle. Aftermarket magazines were not made for this gun so if you want to buy an extra one to have on hand just in case they are hard to find & really expensive like 250$+ which is insane to pay.

I was wondering that if it is legal & if it is would it be possible to get a magazine 3D printed based of the actual original magazine i have now?

I think it would be a good business opportunity.
I seen one guy with a BLR clip sitting firm at $375 and confident that he would get it.
I stumbled across one recently for considerably less but it's rare to see one now.
I had to paid $175 for a ZKW 465 clip and looked long and hard to find it.

You could make the box and follower easy enough but making the spring getting it to move right I bet would be a nightmare.

I did make this on a 3D printer, it's really handy with gloves in winter.

thats what i was thinking of doing, getting the box & follower made then using a metal spring from another similar magazine.

It should be easy the program Edmonton public library has to design it is easy to use and then you can email it to someone with a printer.

Why email it? The Edmonton Public Library has 3d printers too. Not sure if they would freak out if you started printing "gun parts".

They won't print firearms or parts of firearms. If you ask me, that's fair, their printer their rules.

What gun part? He is just printing a crayon dispenser for his kids. Nothing to see here....

OP:

Seriously though unless you are going to desgin the print file yourself likely just cheeper to Shell out a couple hundred for an extra mag. The cost to have somebody scan and/or design the part to print is likely more. Now if you managed to print a few and get ahold of the springs and such perhaps sell some to recoup your costs?
