You can buy video bore cameras on Ebay that will work for greater than 25 caliber for about $50. (They are designed for checking a whole raft of things, Way sheaper than buying a top line Bore scope at $700 and I don't know of anyone who currently videos bores for consumers.http://www.espow.com/product_info.ph...FcQ9Qgod_Q0A5Q
Here is one you could use in even smaller calibers but a little more money.
Skytop, Mel @ Sore Shoulder Shooting Supplies has a bore scope. I don't know if it is the video recording type. He's out of Claresholm which is a distance from you, but I can ask him if you'd like. Let me know.
I have no knowledge or experience with the bore scope here, http://www.larrywillis.com/
but have some interest in obtaining a bore scope and would like to know more.
Aticle on oanother choice. If looking for cheaper generics, check out endoscopes, were designed for use on people but work just as well on guns and focus better than the ones built for inspecting pipes etc.
{Part that matters is head size, light source and number of filamanets for resolution (higher the better) and minimum focusing distance.
There is a computer hookup available I've been eyeing.....
What would a guy expect to get for such a service?
bore scopes don't show you how well a barrel will shoot that's for sure. We've scoped a lot of barrels and it will surprise you. I have a factory 700 in 7 Mag that shoots very very well,...the lands are gas cut for 3/4" and it's heat checked for another inch....you'd never guess by the targets.
