Default Note to Quebec

your next load of oil from Saudi Arabia might be a couple days late. They were busy having a party to celebrate the execution of the 70th prisoner so far in 2016....but they do send a thank you for your support....

Makes perfect sense to post this on The Alberta Outdoorsmen Forum.

Edit- Is your statement in protest of Quebec refineries purchasing foreign oil or are you against the death penalty?

Quebec's only concerned with what she can take out of the country not what she can contribute. While we welcome French immigrant workers here in Alberta the opposite cannot be said.

Nothing has changed, Quebec's only interest in belonging to Canada, has always been to take what it can get from Canada, while giving nothing in return.

How about that. I agree 100% with what Elk said. Alberta should threaten to seperate.

I tend to stay out of the political discussions but aren't the owners of the biggest refineries out east HQ'd in Alberta?

And while a lot of oil is tankered in overseas I'm pretty sure the US is the largest supplier to Canada.

Not really understanding the point of the first post.

I quickly Googled to fact check but right off the bat Husky and Shell are both HQ'd in Calgary. I also checked the NRC and found:

Canada’s Eastern refineries import oil from a variety of oil-producing countries. The United States recently became the largest source for imported oil.

So?

Up until a couple months ago, the US had a law on it's books prohibiting exporting oil since the embargo of the early 70's, until they started producing their shale oil, Canada was their highest percentage of oil imports at 38% of the total they imported. and yes, Shell and Husky do have offices in Calgary, you could make a point of Husky being the world headquarters for their oil production, but certainly not Shell Oil. Yes, Canada does import oil from more countries than Saudi, Nigeria and Venezuela come to mind. The point I was making is it seems the Quebec politicians would have tankers full of oil from half way around the world coming into Montreal via the sewage pit that is now the St. Lawrence seaway, than get it from converting the flow of a pipeline that is already more than 2/3 built

We get you you don't agree. Same as myself and I would think the majority of posters in your topic. Have you written your MP to express your discontent, or is your post purely for our entertainment value?

Could Alberta supply enough oil to keep the refineries going?

I believe Alberta's daily production is about 500k- 600k boe/day. So I'd say yes.
