Default June 12 dinos

I havent hit the rivers for a while, so I decided to get out today. The Bow was clear and I was hoping to at least see a few sturgeon jump and I did. First one jumped straight out and did a backflip out in front of me. Turned out to be a beautifully colored 47 incher. After that once the damn wind got howling I caught 3 more fish, all sturgeon, then ended off with a little mooneye. What a great day it turned out to be. almost to my goal now just 13 more to go.

I heard paddlefish is as good or even better. Granted they are allowed to be snagged in USA so they certainly have more advantage when not hooked in the mouth. Wondering if anybody ever considered bringing them over to Alberta... they have been successfully introduced to Russia and other countries. Too bad they can't be really caught with bait. One day I may drive to Montana and Missouri river to try it out, seems like fun river to boat and fish. Only 5-6 hr drive.

Is there anyway to fish the river for Sturgeon out of med hat with a normal propeller outboard? I know a jet is ideal but if the water stays more than 3 ft deep for a stretch? Never done it, always wanted to try.

Good idea to head to Montana to give em a try ,would be fun .. bad idea to even suggest about someone bringing back to introduce into alberta water cause it could happen . We have enough trouble now with carp goldfish and crayfish being illegally introduced as invasive species.

I dont know about the Hat area, but the rest of the river changes a lot, even day to day and there are a lot of shallows, Ive seen the odd boat try with a prop in other areas and it didnt seem to go very well for them. Same with fibreglass boats and jet skis. you could be ok some days but I definitely wouldnt try

Drive to Forks. That's the only place where it is decent to fish with prop as long as you stick to the main hole and won't try to venture up in Oldman or Bow.

I petition AO to change the Wayne Christie Goal from 700 to 800 sturgeon!

Two seconds and it shall be official.

What say ye AO?

Sorry Wayne.
