Tikka T3 question
I am thinking about getting a Tikka T3 Varmint in 22-250. Would love to get some input from some people who have or have used this rifle.
Only reply if you have HANDS ON experiance please
Thanks in advance,
Joe

I am currently shooting a t3 lite s/s in 300win. Buy it, you will never look back. I love mine, dead accurate, light, weather resistant, and nice to look at. It has been the best money I have ever spent. Just dont loose the magazine, they are a little pricey.

I own a tikka t3 lite 25-06. One of my favorite guns. The action is soooooooooooo smooth and it was a tack driver right out of the box with factory ammo! Would not hesitate to buy again. They are on the lite side and can kick with the bigger calibers but with a 22-250 I think you will be very pleased!

Buy a Sako instead..... AND I know just where you can get one....lol. Tikka makes a very nice rifle better than most IMO but still not a Sako...

I have and shoot a T3 lite S/S in 22-250. I haven't did anything to it except slightly lighten the trigger. It shoots extremely well. My go to yote rifle. I would think the varmint version would be a bit more of a good thing, but heavier to carry.
I worked up a load for my brother's T3 lite S/S 300WSM. It shoots very well, but kicks like a mule.
Good luck.

I have a T3 Hunter in 6.5x55 Swede. This is a group from the first batch of loads I did. No adjustment for OAL to the rifle, just SAAMI length.
another
again, different powder
here's the rifle
I previously turned my nose up at these being a Sako guy, I'm beginning to think I was wrong. This from a rifle that weighs 7.6 pounds including the scope.

I had TWO Tikka's..both stainless varmints...first one in 223, and later on, the other in 204 ruger. I had to replace a mag on the 223 right at first, it wouldn't feed properly...kinda turned me off of the TIKKAS. Once I got everything up and running, I was very impressed!! I got the 1-8 twist so I could play with the 69 gr Lapua Scenars once I started reloading for it! I've gotten a quite a few 1/2 inch groups @ 100 yds with cheap Am. Eagle ammo. A month after, I got my dies, the fun started. I worked up a good load, and am getting a few .125 groups now!! Due to too much month at the end of the money, I had to sell one of them to free up some cash to repair my lobster boat....siiiighhhh.....so I sold the 204....the factory ammo here in NS is very scarce anyways!...I only tried one blustery afternoon at 200 yds.....best 3 shot group was .785using AA2230 powder and seating 15 thou off the lands. Fun to shoot, scary accurate.... This rifle got me so mesmerized, that I'm gonna get a new T3 Lite in 6.5x55..."for her"..LOL....I had one in my hands in april of this year....hopefully in Dec or Jan, I'll sell off a couple more from the closet, then, that other TIKKA will be mine!...I honestly think you'll be amazed with one of these guns. Best of luck with whatever you go with!

I own the .30-06 in Laminate Stainless and the .243 in Stainless Synthetic. Both awesome guns that shoot much better than I do.
Only slight complaint is that the recoil on the .30-06 was a little rough when bench shooting. Threw a Limbsaver on and it's been just fine since.

I have two T3 lites. A stainless laminate in 204 and a stainless camo synthetic in 243. Both are tack drivers. I would not hesitate to get another one.

Tikka
I own 2 Tikka's: 1 in 300 win mag and the other is in 22-250. My next Tikka will be in Tikka vamint 204 Ruger. All of these rifles are very accurate and Tikka is my favorite brand of rifle. I still want to look at the new Thompson venture.

same as everyone else, I have one in .223. It too is a tackdriver and has the best factory trigger I've ever pulled. The only real negative about Tikka is that you can't topload the seated magazines. Other than this, great rifles.

Thanks
Thanks for all the replys everyone. I am very impressed with the reviews! I think all that is left to do is pay for it and find some glass for it then put a few holes in some coyotes.
Thanks again for your posts

i have 4 t3 ss lites 300wm,25-06,223,22-250 and i have a 22-250 in a varmit ss love them to hell. smooth action, crisp trigger, light wieght, and very very accurate the 300 have a limbsaver on it now and it pushes instead of kicking. people say the dont like the plastic clip in them but the plastic clip is very quit and very strong i have run them over with my truck before with no problems where i think a steel clip might bend. buy one you wont regret it.

I borrowed an uncle's Tikka in .22-250 for a few months for some seal/coyote hunting. Loved the gun! Smooth action, very consistent groups...just an overall winner. I remember they were much cheaper when they first came out, but I guess with the demand for them they figured they could justify a price increase.
Also, found an interesting article on chuckhawks.com. Not the be-all-end-all when it comes to firearms, I'm sure, but he has some interesting points.

Well first off con grads on the new rifle i've had mine for 4 years and love it. I topped off with a millet tactical 4-16 with turrets. It unreal it would easily rival my leopold 3x9. In fact i think the millet has the edge in low light. What ever you decide I can see the coyote population starting to dwindle. Cheers !!
