My x brother in law used to have a source and I tried it several times. Mostly steak and really meaty ribs done on the bbq. When the invite came in and he said he was serving Tony the Pony or Trigger I never turned him down. I got a bit tired of him warning to watch out for horse shoes and nails but the meat was delicious. I wish it was more available in Alberta. I think it is more healthy than the obese and diabetic beef that come from the feed lot operations.

As for the OP: I have eaten horse and will do it again without hesitation.
Most beef cows that I have seen seem to have a case of irritable bowel syndrome. Horses are cleaner

Never had it but would not hesitate to try it. Seems like urban people(central ab) are more against eating horse that rural(south and north ab) people percentage wise.

Had a horse steak in Iceland this past spring, and it was excellent.
My wife also tried some of it, and also enjoyed it.
Lots of those Icelandic ponies are apparently raised for the meat market there.

Can't say I would eat horse unless I was starving. Wouldn't eat my dog either, course he's not much more than a snack anyway. Gutted and deboned, might get a sandwich out of him

I had talked myself into trying it until I saw your post.

You're right of course. I can't imagine anyone who has been through what we have seen from the back of horse could consider eating one.

My brother is in a program to ship horses to Japan for food. It's taken me 10 years to just agree to pasture some horses here for him.

Thanks for the reality check Bob.

What do you select if you live IN Calgary or Edmonton?

How would this help you select panelists?

As to question, for ME, it's the same as dog or cat meat. No go. No logical reason for my choice beyond sentimentality. I also doubt I'd ever try any sort of predator meat (bear, coyote, etc.).

What kind of biases do you have or are looking for to have included location as part of this survey, especially with such general selections available.

If one knows someone who to do the thing in the video, one should definitely get on their case to make one. It is absolutely delicious!

If horse meat was readily available, it would definitely be on my table a couple of times a year. If I also knew how to make the thing in the video above, it would be on my table a couple of times a month.
