I have the Garmin Etrex 20 and have been very happy with it. Several times I've been out fishing after dark and have used it to back track my steps to my truck through heavy bush very easily. More bells and whistles than I will ever use. Lets me download my maps to my computer to see where I've been or plan a route and upload it to the Etrex for a trip.

Use your phone and a free downloaded map app. Don't need cell or wifi coverage. I don't even bother bringing my GPS anymore. Just more weight. IHunter shows me where I am, where the park and WMU boundaries are, where the landowner boundaries are. There are other Apps as well.
