nothing yet in our area, south near milk river and the pinhorn. Probably in a month or so. We just had a cat kill on our place, good sized buck, antlers still on strong.

Found my first shed this past Friday. Based on the green coloring and some of the hairline cracks it's atleast 1 or 2 years old. Bonus is I know this guy is still in the neighborhood seen him a few times.

It's quite the paddle buddy found, it would be nice to see them matched up!

One of a couple I found a little over a week ago. BEFORE THIS CURSED SNOW!!! I have a really good idea of where the match will be as this buck is a real home body. I hate the white stuff this time of year.

I only took another couple in field but my ugly mug is in them. Sheds are the only thing I will selfie. How's about one on the couch?

Many have shed, but quite a few are still carrying around here.

I have not been that fortunate this year and am having (probably) the worst shed season since I first started doing it. I can easily count how many sheds I found this year using my fingers, only on one hand too Not a single set for me either. Hopefully, it will turn around once snow is gone.

To make things even worse for me, I have a permission to walk around a field that is visited by the highest quantity of different mature mule bucks I have ever seen. It seems to be the only field with wheat still standing in the area and it seems that everyone comes for a visit. The funny thing is though, all of them feed there every night and sometimes day, many have their bedding right there as well (why would you leave, right?); but they all leave to shed elsewhere I found two sheds on that field so far.

I have also noticed that many bucks walk around with one antler for days! (most of them are left, btw ) No wonder I can't complete a single set.

And finally, I still have not found a shed from a whitetail this year

Now that the rant is over, I found this one today. Probably from an older fella: it is short, but extremely thick. Much thicker than a pop can at the base. And I have never seen the owner before.

I did not have a pop can, so I took a picture with my hand/wrist, which it easily covers. Now that I think about it, I should have taken one with the bottle of beer I took one of the previous pictures with for comparison, but too lazy to do it now (and yes, I still have that beer )

Good luck to ya'll going out this weekend!

Any luck today, boys and girls?

I went out for a couple of hours, but spend most of the time talking to land owners. Maybe walked for an hour, tops. No sheds for me again. The best I got was this:

But time was well spent since I met a few good people, especially one great guy who gave me permission to hunt his property, even though I did not ask for it. Apparently, this permission is also exclusive, i.e. I am the only one who has it. That was quite a surprise since it's a beautiful field, where I saw elk, mules and whitetails on numerous occasions previously and it borders crown land on two sides. So I am pretty happy about that, though I do not really hunt private land for big game. Another benefit of shed hunting

I was out east of Red Deeer today and did a four hour walk. Still alot of snow, but I had the time. Weird thing is, I saw a 2 1/2 year old moose still packing antlers. This is my latest to ever see a moose with horns. My first white tail sheds were found on Jan 1st. Crazy year for all of us shed hunters.

Thanks! He's big enough now that he's no longer on my back in a pack, makes it less of a work out for me! Was a fun afternoon with him!

I was out yesterday for a 5 hr walk. Struck out. And this was in the field with the 72 deer. Trail cam had 1944 pictures in 2 weeks on a 1 picture 2 min delay.

Alot of bucks still carrying but had the first one show up with 1 antler on the 12th and more popped up soon after

Im sure there are some sheds in the field but half of it is under 2 feet of water and the canola stalks make it very difficult.

The niciest buck of the bunch leaves the property with a full rack and returns 33 mins later with no rack at all! Frustrating.

I secured a primo mulee property yesterday though which should be amazing.

Out today but this time a different property and my three yr old on mt back.

Saw a herd of about 70 elk yesterday...there was a bachelor group of 11 bulls near it (1/2 mile)...all still had their antlers on their heads.

Did you ever find this guy moose?> if he returned 33 mins later, I bet some good money that those sheds are within maybe 100-200 yards of that camera max.

p.s. Nice ones Deer Hunter. Good Heavy set, wonder if he is OLD and on his way down... or if he is young and going to be a MONSTER!
