It's really small, shallow and more suitable to float tubes and canoes. I don't think there is a boat launch there, so it depends on what your boat is. It's also prone to winter kill and being fished out out after being stocked. There are probably better places to have a chance to catch fish and take your boat out, depending on what you are looking for.

thanks for your reply. I have a 14 foot aluminum fishing boat with a gas or electric trolling motor that I trailer behind the truck. Love fishing for trout with flyrod. Curious if there are any close areas to Calgary where i can wet a line? Thanks again for your replies.

Chain Lakes west of Nanton sounds like a better spot to take a 14' boat out. I'm not even sure if a gas motor would be allowed on Sibbald. And while they are about 2.5 hours away, I love heading down to Beaver Mines Lake or Beauvais Lake, SW of Pincher Creek. Beautiful scenery and the fishing can be good.

I caught one in Beaver Mines a few years back.... it was my largest rainbow at 8 pounds, but it kind of feels like cheating since it was an old hen from F&W. You're right, a lot of fun, and a hell of a surprise!

It could very well be a typo as I can't seem them releasing 300 brood trout in one location, but they are huge fish.

Not a typo. I fished it a few days after they stocked it with broods. They had to do something with them because of the flooding.

30" are fun on a 4wt.

sibbald meadows pond was a fun fishery from shore or a belly boat. Usually though there's an army of anglers there now.

The pond contains cutts, brookies, and rainbows. It's a nice variety.
