Default Dollar Shave Club

Not a gimmick. I got my first set of blades today. I went into the bathroom hoping to come out and say the blades were at least as good as my Schick Quarto I normally use. Honestly, a lot better and no where near the money. Believe it or not, I do not care. I can say the big companies have seen the last of my pennies!

Just for that video intro they deserve some business! I love how he joked how much of the cost of the average name brand razor goes to Roger Federer Razor costs have advanced to utterly ridiculous levels, even for 'old' standby's. They're practically making them with so many blades that at least a dozen of them might not be touching your face when hitting the outside corners of your chin

The ad got me too. I figured I would give them a shot. Glad I did.

It's still over $2 a blade.
Costco sells a 24pak of Gilette for less than $2 a blade, and i get to keep my vibrating handle lol

Great idea, and this company will do really good. Reminds me of Columbia House that kept sending you tapes/cds every month.

Hmmm, I do not have a Costco membership. Maybe I should look into one.

But look at a blade, and multiply 24 x 2. What do you think it actually costs to make each unit? Geesh, Kirkland Signature should come up with a line of razors. $50 for barely a few ounces of sharpened steel in plastic holders is absurd, even at that quantity.

I'd seen a machine that's intended for sharpening cartridge-style blades, essentially a stropping wheel and thought it a rather novel idea.

My point exactly, tell me it takes any more money to make those complete with a plastic handle than it does a cartridge. Heck, they have the same amount of steel and 8+ times the plastic, yet are cheaper

I stumbled upon that very same ad video...hilarious ad, and I was going to order from them, but then found http://www.dorcousa.com/

I ordered a total of 42 cartridges (his and hers trial packs, plus a few other handles and cartridges) and got them shipped to my door, including all fees for $40. That worked out to less than a dollar per cartridge, plus I got 5 handles.

I love them. My wife loves them. I will not buy another Gillette ever again.

Plus I like that all the cartridges will fit all their handles. I can't stand how Gillette changes their handles/cartridges.
