Powder for the 270 WSM
What powder and loads are you guys burning for your 270 wsm.I was thinking of IMR 4350 but then read that RL17 was made for the short mags. Going to be shooting 110 gr ttsx. What's the deal with RL 17?

I use IMR 4350 whenever I can, have had good luck with it. 9 times out of 10 it is the most accurate powder tested in the Nosler manuals.

Retumbo with 140gr Accubonds for me in my two 270WSM rifles. H1000, MagPro, 7828 SSC and WS 780 would be other powders to try.

I'm running IMr 4831 with 130's and a buddy is running IMR 7828 with 130's as well we both get a tad over 3300fps with 24" bbls.
My buddy got near the same results with RL 22, but with Aliant being so on and off again, and hardly available outside of 1 pounders, he settled on the 7828.

Hodgdon Hybrid 100V is working really good in the short mags too.

Tried r19, r22 ,imr 4350 and imr 4831 in my GF's rifle. All shot well but the best results was with imr 4350. All the loads we tried were with 130 gr bullets.

im seeing a trend here....IMR 4350 for me too. im at 63 grains with a 130 grain interbond bullet. about half the manuals ive checked list it as over max, but the other half say good. all i know is the rifle likes it and with no pressure signs ill keep it.

Bambi I bought some 130 interbonds the other day. Have you had good luck with them on game as well as accuracy?

I use RL19 with 130 TSX, but with 110's, I would use H4350, or Hybrid 100V.

I load IMR4350 with 140grain Accubonds at 60.0grs. Very accurate load. Was at the range yesterday and was shooting 3" groups at 300 Yards.
