Coyotes are quite a small target. I would advise that you pick up a couple different boxes of ammo and see what shoots the best in your rifle. Focus on 150 and 165Gr loads. Once you find a load that your rifle likes, buy a bunch of it.

Hope this helps a little. Let us know what load you end up shooting.

If your gun likes the 150 grainers. shoot them. a coyote shot with a 308 won't care if it was 150 or 165, cause he will be graveyard dead and you likely will be sewing if you want the hide.

Id say Almond shells and long Grain rice would be your best bet

Yotes only deserve cheap shells and light lead if you can fins any 125's that would be a good bet

Pretty much anything will work if you dont care what the skin looks like afterwards. With my .270 I find that heavyer bullets do a bit less damage but at 100 yards or less I havnt found a factory load that doesnt completely mangle them. Maby if I got someone to load me up some solids or somthing.

Just had an Idea, if you want nice skins maby the military surplus FMJ loads would be good as long as your gun shoots them well and your not hunting in areas where you have to worry about them bouncing around.

147 fmj are the ticket if you don't want to damage the pelt any more than necessary. Winchester and Remington load them at a reasonable price.

Carefull with military ammo in a civilian rifle, they are loaded differently and you may experience very high pressures. Military rifles have loose chambers and lots of freebore to help it function in almost any condition.
