You bet they are one in the same. Here are his live pics again taken before shooting light(reason for poor quality) the week before the season.

Let us know what he scores. It would be neat to see what he is compared to the guesses people had. Awesome story and a great deer. Good job

Congrats, It's great to see you out with the younguns. I can picture them in the future trying to outdo Mom. A cruncher like that will be a high plateau for them to exceed.

That's a tremendous old buck - congratulations. I am glad to see you got him after posting the live pics. He looked great in those live pics and I am sure you were thrilled when you walked up to him. Great deer.

What a great finish to that story. I think everyone on the board was hoping for you last night when Darcy mentioned that you and the boys were headed out to try and get that guy.
Huge congrats Mrs Sheepguide. Very well done. I imagine that you have two sons that are pretty proud of their mom right now.

Congrats on a wonderful deer, I love the shape of his rack and for sure one of the nicest I have seen posted this year.
I also have to say it nice to see someone get a deer that they have scouted , put a plan in place and connected on. I know how frustrating it can be when things don't go as planned or someone else shows up and wrecks the hunt.
Good for you and your family, job well done!!

Kinda funny that you mention this as we went through it all opening evening.
A little more of the story...
We had the buck patterned at night so opening morning we just left him(very tough to do). Then we had to wait as we have to pick our kids up at the bus a half mile from our place. We then dropped them off at the house and headed for "Our" spot. Upon reaching the spot we were going to park we see another vehicle pulling out from the quarter the buck was in. Well we were pretty disapointed but parked and walked in to where we wanted to sit. Around an hour latter a bunch of does broke from the cover to the NE and bolted across the field. Shortly after the owners of the quarter to the north came barreling through a bush trail on their land up to the fence line, jumped out and look to be aiming at something in the field we were watching(all the deer had gone in the other bush by now). After a short time they got back in the truck and left. Well now we are really disapointed.
To top all this the wind is gale force and trees are falling all over. But we sat till dark seeing no sign of the bucks at all.
So did the bucks not come out do to the wind or the people? Who knows but even if things dont go right stick with it. Doesnt always work but when it does it makes it that much sweeter to know that them other guys got out done by a Lady and 2 young boys

My season is a success with her getting that deer. Dont really care if I even pull the trigger on a whitetail this fall.

Haha I knew it and I remember writing saying you should shoot it because he probably is bigger than you think hahaha Great frame may not be the best scoring deer in the world but I would never pass that deer up even if i had a wall full of 200 inch whitetails sometimes a buck just has an incredible look and that buck for me has it all. Wow what a beautiful animal congrats again

Crappy part is I cant tape him. Stuck at work. But we did a rough score over the phone(he is on his way to a friends to be caped out so maybe he will also put a tape on him as he knows whitetails alot better than I) and with the measurments that the wife gave me im thinking there are going to be a few guys really suprised at how well he scores. Ill just say that the gross numbers I got if she got the measurment spots right(her first time measuring and with direction over the phone) then he is a Tank. I think alot of guys have put him way low, myself included(my guess was mid to high 160's on the hoof not kill pics).
