Default Saturdays duck hunt

Decided to try something different. I built my self a platform for my layout blind. I needed the platform so that I could be right on the edge of the pond where the swamp grass ends.

Managed to come home with six ducks. 2 pintails, 2 mallards, 1 Gadwall and 1 Red head. Would have been easy to limit out if I wasn't fussy. It just killed my dog to hear all the widgeons, gadwalls, and teals landing in the decoys. Nothing like having a front row seat.

I've hardly ever seen pintails where I used to hunt. They seem to be a skiddish bird. They certainly made enough passes before they finally swung in to gun range.
