Default UPDATE: How stupid do you have to be.

UPDATE

Jan 2017
How stupid do you have to be?
First this hunter trespasses on private property, crop still on the field. Gets his vehicle buried in a slough bottom. Uses a 7mil to shoot a mule deer buck ( no season). All this inside Edmonton city limits. Then proceeds to chirp the farmer that confronts him to the point of infuriating him. Surprise! Fish and wildlife was called. Poacher charged and rifle confiscated. Court date set for next January. I'll update then.
Jan 2018
Here is the result. “Hunter” questionable use of the noun. Plead guilty. Resulting in 3550 dollar fine and one year no hunting. Gets his rifle back.

Nothing wrong with using a 7mm to shoot deer !

The rest of the story is a little sideways....

I think the 7 was a little strong for a deer, but "use enuff gun" has been heard before.

Why did the guy get his gun back? Sounds like someone who should not be near one.

I hope they're not too hard on this guy, what about his feelings? Were they hurt?

I hope CBC doesn’t get ahold of this story, or next thing you know, the farmer will be facing charges of interfering with an illegal hunt!

All kidding aside, this guy should have faired out much worse. I can only hope that he learned something from the whole situation.

Infuriating to see guys like this just get a slap on the wrist.

One year of no hunting? Let's bump that to at least 5.
Rifle returned? Let's change that to firearms license revoked indefinitely.
$3500? Come on, you've got to make it hurt more than that.

Nothing about this story seemed accidental. Punishment doesn't fit the crime.

Stupid People Winning Big Prizes...
The guy is a convicted hunter who broke the rules...
Be two years before he can hunt again.
Cause I think he will not be able to buy a license till after his conviction date if all goes according to the rule of law.
