Default Tripod recommendations

Looking to get my first tripod for my binos. Curious if anyone has one they might recommend?

If you want something that will do double duty check out Primos Trigger stick and Bog Pods products. Make a great shooting rest, as well as camera, bino and spotting scope holder.

Really like the Sirui t-025x i got this year. The ball head has a seperate pan knob which is really nice.

What kind of hunting are you using the tripod for?

The best tripod is a concrete block with a bolt in it. Everything else is a compromise.

I've owned a bunch for sheep hunting - from very heavy to a bit too light. I'm currently using a Vortex Sumit SS and it's been a great balance of price and weight and stability. It would not work if you plan on standing and looking through your optics.

Manfrotto (and Gitzo) makes some excellent models but expect to pay both cash and weight.

What's your budget?
And do you plan on packing it far?

My budget is about 200-300.

I'll mostly be glassing for deer and it would generally be day trips so weight isn't a huge deal.

Thanks for the suggestions so far

If weight is no issue, then Bog Pod is hard to beat. Primos Trigger Sticks adjust quickly but have fewer attachments compared to Bog Pod.

For those using lightweight systems, has anyone used a Javelin magnetic quick attach system (https://javelinbipod.com)?

I’m also using the Vortex Summit SS-P and I really like it. Great weight/cost ratio, packs super small and sets up nicely (and quickly) for me. I used it mostly this year on day trips scouting for deer. Attached is a picture of it doing just that.

Default Vortex high country

I like my vortex highcountry. But Not a fan of its ball head at all. Looking to move to a 2 way pan head for it. Manfrotto befree or something similar.
