DAMN!!!!!! I JUST bought a Spot2. I could have waited and got this to use with my Crackberry! Does this send custom sattelite messages you type yourself like the Delorme/Spot combo? Seems to imply it does.

They are gaining but still need to work on it some. When they get 2 way Sat. communication then I will maybe look into it. For now my old S.P.O.T does pretty much the same thing. The only part is I can tell them the exact scenario. But either way help will be on the way. The text part may be nice if it was two way so you could confirm what was happening.

Its alot more money but ill stick with a Sat. phone instead of the S.P.O.T connect. That way I know for sure help is on the way and I can make sure that whome ever I am communicating with understand the situation. I had to go through this when being stranded(sled broke down) in the mountains solo this winter hunting wolves. If I would have had the Connect I wouldnt have known if anyone was coming, I would have had to just hope for the best. But with the phone I was ble to talk to the wife and organize guys to come in and help me out. Was even able to talk to a guy that tried to trouble shoot my sled.

Default Want one...

I have wanted on for so long. The new one sounds nice but like SG I will wait for 2 way communication. Actually thanks to SG I want one even more; if you read his thread you will read it helped him get tracked down when his snowmobile was out of commission and he was stranded.

Hope this link works. Not about the Connect but a happy S.P.O.T story.
