Default Today's Cool Catch

A black coyote. I've never seen one except in pictures. Gonna get this one tanned I think.

Default Black coyote

Congrats on your black coyote
I shot a female black coyote about 12 years ago East of Westlock
Had it made into a rug with full head mount.
You can see in the photo how the black coyote compares to a regular coyote which I also had made into a rug with full head mount which was my sons first coyote when he was 11 years old and shot it with a 17HMR

That is an awesome catch. I'm hoping to catch a cross fox one day.

Very cool. Pretty sure I saw one on our line about 4 years ago. Too small for wolf and too big for cross fox. Crossed the trail and saw him briefly through the big timber. Wasn’t 100% on what I saw. Now I’m convinced it was one of these guys. Very cool indeed

Good one! Around here I have a better chance of catching a black yote than a pale one.

Yup, thanks. Case skinned with paws on. In November I did a big fisher with the paws on and it worked out well. If I take my time I’ll do okay.

The paws aren’t extra thin for pulling down to the first knuckle are they?

Saw a jet black one while driving about 10 years ago (ironically out coyote hunting) he skipped off the road into some thick bush and was gone. But I know what I saw! He was jet black.

There’s a fella in Leduc County on another site that posted a picture of a black coyote that he caught the same day that I did. How strange is that?

Picked up a black and a blond one this year on the same check. Probably never catch another because they are rare around here. Can't finger out how to post pictures or I would.

Very neat catch Dave. Congratulations! I like the rug idea on such a catch.
