The bow river
Hi all, I haven't done a lot of fishing around Calgary and was thinking of trying to fish the bow river. Any suggestions on where to go and what flys are working right now?
Also wondering what river should I hit to try my luck at some Browns with spin cast. Thanks in advance.
Im not an avid fly fisher, more like recreational. When time allows I do enjoy getting out. But I have used Elk hair Caddis in 10 and 12 and been content. Every now and again, mostly in the slow water I'll toss something small and black onto my line.
Again, I'm not one of those guys out there for 20 hours a weekend, I'm lucky to get 40 hours in the summer so please, take this for what it's worth.
Thanks for the input. I have been fishing since 12 yrs old but I've only fixed in Alberta a handful of times which is why I was seeking some advice. I'm not an experienced fly fisher but I believe I'm decent with spincast.
I've been using some San juans and a few nymphs but no success. Anyways I'll plug away when I can get the free and very limited time unfortunately. Thanks again.
