Default Fly fishing on Rock Lake

Looking to catch some lake trout out of rock lake tomorrow on the fly rod. I have never caught lakers on the fly before any advice is appreciated.

Full sink line and clouser minnows worked for me there. They will be deep until fall though. Tonne of fun on the fly, plenty of little guys to keep you happy and broke off some monsters. Post some photos!

OK, thanks for the reply. I was thinking something similar. I will post photos next week when I return.

Interesting, I figured they would be in the deep and going after baitfish patterns. I will try both techniques and see what is productive. Thanks for the tips.

I found the lakers there would eat near anything. They were kinda deep (40-50ft) when I was there in late June but could get some shallow in morn and eve. Got a 40 inch pike on the fly there as well. Beauty lake but lakers are pretty small from what I've seen.

Well, it was pretty nasty weather out there. Snowing and windy. Made for a cold day in the float tube. Managed to hook into some decent lakers in the mid forty cm range. They were taking leech patterns in 5-10 FOW. Didn't pull out my camera due to the weather but it was a good day.
