Default Central East deer management plan

Does anyone know what F&W long term plan is for deer management out in Eastern central AB? I have been hunting out in/by cwd zones since they found the disease. It has been quite frustrating to watch what they are doing with the herd, they seem to be just wanting to kill everything and just test them for cwd. Are they putting any money into R&D to cure the disease or at the very least try to study where it came from/how it's spread? I'm just wondering as it has been something like 8 years and they seem to know no more than they did when it started. On top of that they haven't even addressed what the KNOWN source of the disease is, game farms. I'm just personally starting to get frustrated by what I perceive as a stop gap measure that has been going on for 8 years with no progress on the prevention or cure side of things that I've seen.
