what year & how much

I have a Marlin model 444S microgroove...ser.# is 71 173948

I need to know what year it is & about how much it is worth...I am from Pennsylvania & a friend of mine wants to buy it & i have no idea of the value...I do know that it is in brand new condition. Only ever fired 1 box out of it. Whay can I ask for it?

Should be built 1971. Worth in very good condition around $500-$550 Cdn which as of today is about $8 US...
