Default Really n00b question..

So I've been batting around the idea of taking the course and becoming a trapper for some time now.

Due to my remote location I have access to vast areas of unclaimed crown land.

I was wondering how registering a trapline works? I've hunted online, but can't find a solid answer about it.

Thanks.

Get the licence by challenging the test or do the course.
Most crown land in Alberta is claimed trapline, called RFMA's. I believe there are 1700 RFMA's across alberta.
Find some one that will sell thier the line and assets, send in your application and if all goes well, you can buy it.
You can also get a Resident licence which allows you to trap on private lands, With permission, and small areas of crown that are not part of a RFMA.

Know of a map/list viewable online?

I just have a feeling some will be vacant around my area due to the extreme remoteness.
