Default Any TD Pajero owners past or present?

Just sold my truck and looking at buying a second generation turbo-diesel JDM Pajero (or similar) for cash. Seeing if there are any current or previous owners out there that have experience with Pajeros that might be able to give me some pointers/tips/things to look out for when buying, over and above the usual stuff.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure if you have experience with JDM/RHD, but I own one. It's a summer / occasional car. Left hand turns aren't that bad provided the geometry of the intersection is okay and you're not facing an opposing left hand turning vehicle. The bigger issue I found is passing on a 2 land undivided Highway; visibility is generally limited and pulling out to check requires a severe movement into the oncoming lane or a significant drop back from the front vehicle to confirm the passing opportunity.

As many as outdoor pursuits require access via 2 lane undivided Highways I would be hesitant about RHD vehicle for that purpose.

I’ve owned several RHD’s that were imported from Japan including a 1993 2 door Pajero with the 2.8l turbo-Diesel, selectable ride shocks and a rear air locker. I put a 2 inch body lift on it with 33-9.50 BFG Mud Terrains and it was unstoppable. They were a very tough little suv. It was 15 years old and had 64,000 Kms on it when I imported it. All said and done I had it imported and on the road for $7,000 at the time and it was basically a 15 year old vehicle that was very lightly used and had no damage or rust.

I also had a bunch of mini trucks of different makes and one 1988 BJ74 Landcruiser.

OK cool, what about maintenance and parts accessibility? Did you have any issues sourcing parts when anything broke?
