Now there's a good idea! I have some trees in my yard with a few kinds of apples and miniature pears (the pears never get ripe, but the squirrels like 'em). Mrs Caber wants to make jelly with some, and there's some ripening to happen yet, but anyone around cowtown who wants dibs on what we don't use is welcome to PM me.

Pick the pears and put them in a paperbag on the counter for a couple of days and you will have ripe pears.

Do you know which variety they are?
