Default Pretty Proud Dad

My oldest son turned 12 last year and was very excited to start rifle hunting. After his dad the guide (that would be me) messing up royally a couple of times, he ended up making tag soup with his General Whitetail tag. He was discouraged but vowed to make up for it this year by bow and rifle hunting.

Fast forward to this summer. He was finally strong enough to draw his bow at 40 lbs. He shot nearly ever day and was quite good out to 35 yards. After having some close chances the first weekend of the season, we (and by that I mean he) sealed the deal Saturday morning on a fat mule doe from 35 yards. As excited as he was, I think that I was just as stoked. Super proud moment. His first big game animal ever and it was with a bow!!

We leave for moose hunting in two weeks, and he still has two deer tags in his pack. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds.
