Bow Sights
The other bow rest thread got me thinking.
What sights have you guys tried and liked?
I’m looking at the Trophy Ridge React Pro 5 pin.
Anyone try Spot Hogg?

I have the React Pro 5, have been using it for a couple years now.
I really like the sight. I was a little skeptical at first, but it seems to be really accurate once I set the 20 then move to the 40 and dial in, all the other pins are good to go. I practice out to 60, but would only ever shoot out to 40 for hunting.
The only thing I don’t like on mine, is the 20, 30, 50 and 60 hrs pins are all green (40 is red). Once in a blue moon while target shooting I will accidentally use the 30 instead of the 20 or vice versa just not paying attention, ha.

I went from the Spot Hogg 5 Pin hunter to the Black Gold Pure Gold 5 Pin Slider.
I am so very happy that I did.

Might have to do more research on black gold.
Where are you guys getting them, and the Spot Hogg’s?

I have both bought them at a retailer and ordered directly.
The nice thing about Black Gold, is you can go on their website and build your custom sight. You can pick all your pin colors, pin sizes, what model you want it on, what size of housing you want.
Check it out. You won't be disappointed

I have a trophy ridge react 5 that I have been thinking about replacing with something I can shoot longer distances with. It is a great sight, just been kicking the idea around if you’re interested in buying used.

Spot Hogg for this guy. They’ve been on every bow I’ve owned since about 2006. Prior to that I tried a few different sights and they always left me unimpressed at best. One in the mid 90’s broke on me and I didn’t notice until I drew on an elk and found I didn’t have any pins left.
I run a wrapped, 5 pin hogg it hunter and usually get them off archerytalk for about $80-100.

I have a CBE single pin. since i switched to the single pin i love it. don't have to look at all them other pins while your trying to shoot. I can leave mine set at 34-35 yards and im 3" high at 20 yards. Also kinda the same thing at 40 yards couple inches low so you don't have to really worry about adjusting it when an animal is in that close.

After trying a few a different sights, and talking to more experienced archers I settled on a Black Gold Pure Gold 75, 3 pin. I feel this gives you the best of both worlds. You have your 20,30,40 yard pins covered. If it’s more (or less) then 40, you then just dial your 40 yard pin to the exact yardage which is even more critical at longer distances.
They are very rugged and have a life time warranty. I dropped my bow from a stand, and cracked part of the sight arm. Sent it back and they replaced all the parts and sent it back good as new. For free.

I have had trophy ridge sight in the past and have had real problems with their pins. They are really brittle. Unless they have changed them over the last 5 years, I would stay away from them.
A lot of great sights out there. Spott hog is very popular for a reason.

Montana Black Gold
I have 2 different Montana Black Gold and they work really well. Light weight and very strong. It also helps they have a lifetime warranty if you happen to drop it out of a tree or something.

I'm using a Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL 3 pin, very good sight but heavy.
I've been wanting to add a 4th pin and been thinking about modifying
the vert. rail, cutting it in half to shave off some weight.
It's got at least twice the travel I would ever use.
Also would like to have another dove tail rail cut down short for hunting,
again to shave off weight and keep the quick disconnect feature.
Thought about buying the Spot Hogg Hunter but I like to customize my stuff.
