I've been looking into ways of practicing bow birding techniques.
Not finding much except having a partner throw a target in the air.
I don't like that. I want a launcher unit like shotgun clays.
Was thinking of making a large slingshot launcher that would throw balled up tshirts or stuffed animals.
There are indeed launchers just like trap machines for bow birds but they're pricey. The best is to set up a piece of plywood and the pitcher stands behind it and tosses them up for you to shoot at. I say the best bescause it gives the best flight to the object like a frisbee, foam disk etc. We've made a big slingshot and shoot nerd balls, it works well but still takes a person to shoot it.
I'd like to see a pneumatic launcher with foot control so one person could use it.
We used to run a clothsline downhill and had a rubber duck decoy on an clothsline roller...you could run a line with a clothespin stop and operate single handedly...it would run 50 yards...
lots of fun...
first couple shots most will miss by two feet behind
Behind a piece of plywood tossing targets is a great way to be leaking blood. There are bow bird thowers available and the plans to make them are also available. Check the review I did on this one. He just sells the plans now. http://peteward.com/2007%20new%20pag...ngshooter.html
