Your best chance at glenmore perch is the east bay by heritage park, or try far southwest corner, lots of them but i never caught any bigger than 6"(mind you i rarely go after them), few years back beavers moved in, and are still there building a giant lodge

One old guy jigs for them under a float casting across the weed line, only person that i have seen who catches perch consistently.

Berkley micro nymphs are a good choice on a tiny jig.

I've heard they can be caught by the canoe club, although its against the rules to fish from their dock.

Has anybody actually caught a perch out of glenmore?

Anyone have a pic?

I've never caught one although I've tried.

BGAngler caught a jumbo on a smelt once. Confirmed.

No pics, but when I was posted in Calgary, I would launch my canoe from the Canoe Club dock (or rent one from them) and fish just off of their dock for good size perch, just bigger than my handspan, say 9 inches.

A boat is the way to go if you want to catch Glenmore Perch. The spots mentioned hold 'em, as well as the big flat on the south west area, only accessable with a boat.

I haven't fished Glenmore for perch for years, but used to catch lots up to a pound and a half back in the 80's.

Anyone wonder why the little island is a good place for pike?

I always fish off the island in the little canal for pike, catch lots in the 1-4lb range, makes sense why there in there!

I hve caught a small number of perch at Glenmore, up to 10 inches, on worms. That was a long time ago, however.

A few years back, before I started fly-fishing exclusively, I used to get a fair number of perch latching on to smaller crankbaits (usually 'perch' or 'firetiger' patterns) whilst trying for pike. I mostly fished just below the golf course with excellent results.

Just around the first little inlet, north of the rowing club.

I tried for many hours this summer in my 14' aluminum in tons of different spots, the only thing I managed to catch was two pike that were about 8 inches, and my friend caught one about 16 inches.
i'll be back again this summer to try and figure them out, but glenmore takes many many hours to hookup with anything other then a pike.

One of next summers todo, it to is to spend an evening or two a week getting the kayak wet there. Beats sitting at home watching TV, even if it is just hammer handles.

We did the same thing with out 12', our ratio was 150 pike to 1 rainbow, but the rainbows we caught were 5-7 lbs. On a average afternoon we would catch 25-30 pike

Spent a couple days on the perch mission last summer. Not a sniff. On day 2 while I was jigging from the canoe in 40 ft of water a trout surfaced for a snack a couple times about 15ft from me. Biggest trout ive seen in a long time. Tail was bigger than my canoe paddle. Didn't catch it either. 2 days , no fish. Butt went numb and paddled alot. Try again next spring I guess. They don't like the dock fishing at the rowing club but 10ft off the dock in your own canoe is boating.!!

sounds way better then me and my friend did! Must have spent 30+ hours out at glenmore in a boat, and many more from shore, and for all that hard work only 3 dink pike, 2 of which i've got perch way bigger. lol
