Default SD Card reader??

What’s everybody using for card readers for their trailcams?
I’m looking for something that’s compatible with my iPhone6 and/or iPad.
Not really interested in a stand alone SD card viewer ie;Moultrie viewer or wutever, just the reader that plugs into iPhone/iPad etc.
I’ve read mixed reviews on the Stealth brand that Cabela’s carries from total POS mostly with a few good reviews, but it also requires removing phone from its case/otter box/
Lifeproof etc....no thx.
Can I buy something like this at The Source or a camera store etc?

I have a little pig tail that plugs into my iPhone other end accepts the sd card and then just import all or select the ones you wanna import and they’re on your phone in seconds. Think I got it at the apple store.

I tried the android reader/iPad and didn’t like it. Then I found a mini laptop on eBay and is by far the easiest to use and organize photos. I got it for $110 shipped. Don’t waste your money. Just go with a small laptop

Default Reader

I have a Bone View card reader. It was a gift and I really like it. It plugs into the charge port on an Iphone, or Ipad. SD card slides into the side of it. You download the app and it allows you to view, save, delete, etc. Works good for me.

I use my home computer and spare cards. Less time at the camera, less to carry, less moving of files and the lowest priced option. Extra cards are cheap.

I have the same one from Cabelas that plugs into my Iphone 5S or my Ipad's charging port. I don't even import the ones I want, I just save the image to my phone, throw the card back in the cam and walk away. Move it to where I need it when I get home. It uses the "I-Easy Drive" app which is pretty simple and I have had no problems so far in 2 seasons.....

I picked up the apple sd card reader and just plug it into my iPhone. Works slick and cheap.

These options are what I’m most interested in I think.
I already have an iPhone and iPad and a large laptop, not really interested in buying another device or lugging a laptop around with me scouting/hunting no matter how small it is,my phone is already with me 24/7......and extra SD cards aren’t really all that cheap compared to the pigtail readers which are only $20-$40(?).....plus I want to view pics on the spot, not wait til I get home.

I just picked up a small reader that plugs into my phone. For $20 (on sale) I can do everything on my phone.

Well that’s the one that has very mixed reviews @Cabelas from “works good” to “total POS” plus you need to remove protective case from phone to plug it into charging port.....no thx
I think I’ve found my answer, lotsa pigtail models on Amazon and in person at various stores for under 20 bucks.
As it is,at present I only have 3 cams and 6 cards that I’ve been swapping out but again is kinda a PITA to lug a laptop around scouting and even worse hunting(I already tend to carry way too much junk and gadgets in my pack as it is) so I was mostly interested in which brands of pigtail readers work as advertised and which junk to avoid.
I’d like to buy a cam per month or so and this time next year have a small fleet of 12-15 cams in the bush....had 4 but one was stolen before I seen a single pic from it.....on private land where I had sole permission no less!! 🤬

My hubs paid 20 bucks for a tiny card reader that allows him to view contents right on his phone. Basically an SD card interface and a short wire to your android phone. Download VLC media player and you're done. Works excellent.

I bought one of the pigtail models off Amazon last year for like 10 bucks, it worked for a little while, then started working only half the time now it doesn't work at all. Probably worth spending a bit extra to find something that will last longer. Not out a bunch of money but pia when it doesn't work.

Agreed...I don’t mind paying a bit more for something that’s gonna be reliable, kinda like those cheap Chinese gas station phone chargers that work for a month or a week if at all.😖😡

I had one that plugged into the bottom of my old android.. it ended up erasing all of my personal pictures. Now I only use a small laptop in the field.

That's the one I have but I bought the short cord as well($10?) so it plugs into my Iphone without interfering with the protective case. All in it was less than $30 as I recall....
