Post off shore fishing near edmonton

Hi,
I´m new to edmonton,do you guys know any good places to fish off shore around here.would like to go for trout, what works best for them?
i´m also new to fishing...

Welcome to the forum KD. There are plenty of trout ponds in and around Edmonton. Up my way there's Cardiff Pond and the Morinville Rez. Check the regs for stocked ponds close to where you live. All that you need to fish the ponds is a worm and a bobber.

would a spoon work too,what color should it be?

Small spoons absolutely will work for trout. I've had good luck with very small Len Thompson and Fiord Spoons. I've had the most luck with blue/silver and red/white spoons

Kastmaster and Deadly Dicks aren't exactly spoons, but they're worth a look as well when it comes to trout.
