Default Old fac and new system

Im trying to get one of my family members back into hunting. The last time he hunted was back when FAC's were active and there was no win system. Now ive been going through the PAL application systems and i see that there is a location to input the old FAC number on it my issue is it seems my uncle has lost track of the FAC. He says he use to goto the downtown police office to file for it??? will they have some record of it so he can still do this application?

Also regarding the win, when the systems transfered over did they keep priority or did everything start from scratch?

Thanks for the help, im really hoping i can track down this FAC number if not i dont see him being very eager to get back out there.

I doubt the police station would have any record as the FAC was all federal and they were just providing a service. But it may be worth a phone call. Otherwise I would phone the Firearms Centre and see if they can track it down--it's a long shot, but may be worth it if you have your uncle's address, etc. at the time.

With regard to the WIN, one of the reasons for the system was to track draw priorities . So, I'm not sure there was an old priority system prior to the WIN. But I could be wrong. Again, a phone call to RELM may be the best bet.
