Default Alpine Flex Plow system

Hello AO,

Being as AO is literally the only social media platform I'm on, I'm hoping that someone here could advise/point me in the right direction.

Specifically, I'm looking for information on a new / used Alpine Flex Plow system that was at one point designed (and possibly built by) Can-Am for the Outlander ATVs and UTVs.

I've been playing around with the idea of getting this plow system for my quad to help move a ton of snow every winter, as opposed to moving said snow 2 or 3 times with a 24" snowblower. I figured it might be more efficient to move the snow with a plow, then lift it onto a pile with the snowblower. We live in a cul-de-sac and clean an awful lot of snow between the 14 or so houses in the 'sac.

Now I realize that the City might get irritated with a practice like this, but considering I've paid taxes for almost 20 years and have seen a City run snowplow in our cul-de-sac only about 5 times over the years, they can go blow goats for all I care. I do know that the recycling / garbage trucks are exceptionally happy with our snow clearing routine, as they never have to worry about getting stuck and have clear streets down to pavement within our cul-de-sac.

Anyone know of a line on this system?

J.

I believe they are discontinued. Even if you find a used one, parts will be hard to come by down the road.

There are a few for sale on Facebook Marketplace. You could also check Kijiji.

Well Friend, I can tell you that for years I was the masked snow plower of Quesnell Road. ALL the neighbours loved it when the masked snow plower would mount his Griz 660 and would plow out the street.

No one ever gave me a dime. All I did was wear out my Quad, and freeze my butt off. On one occasion a neighbour came out to confront me why the CITY was so slow to clear the snow. I had to explain that I was a good Samaritan / neighbour, and not paid by the City. He apologized, thanked me, and never reciprocated with any form of gift. Same old, same old.

But as for quad / plow experience, you cannot get a better source. On a long push, you can only do an angle push and eventually the snow piled up is very heavy to push. eventually the windrow is too heavy to move any further.

When it comes to piling up the snow, a Quad can only go up a few feet as you try to push higher and higher. The front wheels spin on the pile and the lift is minimal.

Perhaps some of your neighbours will pitch in when you decide to be a good neighbour, but I bet they are like my neighbours. None will have any equipment or inclination to help, and fewer will have any gratitude for your efforts.

Default A word of warning

While they will usually ignore the efforts of someone using a small residential snowblower on public property, do not underestimate their willingness to make a REALLY expensive example of someone who uses a plow to clear the same area.
In Calgary, they practically salivate at the opportunity to levy fines of that magnitude.
