Default Grass collection?

Not sure if anyone else has noticed but I've seen several people mowing grass, putting it in bags and then storing it under tarps. One guy in particular has a high canopy made with tarps and is mowing about 5 acres. He has several piles of garbage bags stacked up; about30-40 each.
What's the deal with that? Curious

I honestly have zero idea, but I might take a stab at what ever this new generation does to find clean water.

I may be wrong though.

Maybe he's a little lite in the smart depart , and figures to cash in , as it will soon be legal to sell grass

Build a big pile. Run piping through. Cheap hot water. Lasts well into winter if the pile is big enough.

In the stump removal topic on this forum, a guy mentions Epson salts will rot stumps. Had some, so filled all the drilled holes with the stuff.

The stump rot from Peavey did nothing.

So, because I have grass from leaving the lawn too long & a lawn sweep, I started a pile on each stump.

See what happens in a couple years with cooking grass on them !

I have no idea why the above guy would bag it & put under a tarp. Best/fast to rot if kept wet.

My least favorite job working at the golf course that put me through university, was cleaning the clipping piles. These were piles of grass clipping collected off greens by the mowers that were deposited and left to rot. They stunk, were often representative of the colours of the rainbow and were always steaming hot.

So not sure what this guy is up to but be glad it's semi enclosed in garbage bags and a tarp I guess.

Why would someone want to bag grass clippings on a acreage. Leave on lawn, saves alot of fertilizer. Just do not leave it until you are cutting hay. A healthy lawn should only have a third, max half of blade clipped each time you mow.
