Default A2A rail system gets the green light !

Thankfully some good news for once. Its nice that it doesn’t go through any “areas” that have previously been a political nightmare. To bad that any revenue generated will be shared across all provinces wether they support it or not.

The barricades are probably going up as we speak.

It's encouraging on the face of it, but hardly a 'Green Light' just because Trump says he is ok with it. All the rail proposed for Canada has to go through an environmental assessment, then JT and his Idiot Circus will want an upstream and downstream analysis of 'pollution' aka CO2 because of hauling oil, and while we are at it it's going to need a Gender analysis as well. After that it's going to get more difficult, because JT is set on signing us on to UNDRIP (UN Declaration of Rights of indigenous Peoples), which will give them a veto on any project anywhere in Canada. So getting them all onboard is next to impossible, no matter how much money gets thrown at them.

So, yeah. Green light to start a long agonizing expensive process. If you thought the TMX was a gong show, you will really love this.

Good luck. The Yukon is so NIMBY that it is no longer funny. We are on a steady diet of transfer payments with no concern as to how real wealth is generated. Think of us like Quebec, just up north and a touch less French.

I myself would be for it. As a land owner and landlord up here a project like this will keep the good times rolling.

Also, that route looks to pass near Watson Lake and Ross River. Those 2 communities are the only 2 in the Territory without a land claim agreement. It will be a gongshow.

Seems like the back door approach to moving our oil to the coast and rail is inefficient and more hazardous than pipe lines. That psrt of Alaska and the western Yukon hold some of the highest and most rugged mountains on the continent, can't see it happening.

Pretty sad when a President from another country is doing more for our Oil sector than our own PM
