Default Fished Eagle Lake near Strathmore today

So I decided to give up on Dalemead for now and decided to fish Eagle lake with a friend.

We ended up icing 2 pike in about 5 hrs and had a pretty good time.

This was my first pike through the ice, a whole 5lbs.

I caught it after setting my rod down and snapping pictures of the beautiful day!

Tons of trucks, cars, campers, actually was surprised to see snow on the ice. There was a solid 15"+ and around 2pm the RCMP even drove on with the red and blues flashing, no idea what for.

Talked to one guy and mentioned it was a slower day there, I've only fished from shore here once as I drove by and caught weeds.

Rcmp were there because a man had a heart attack and died. Some are saying he hit his head but this is not true. I knew the man.

That's what I read in another post somewhere, I thought there was quite a bit of snow on Eagle that day, compared to Chain Lakes, or Crawling Valley.
