Default Jasper fishing question

Is there any point in fishing lake Edith or lac Beauvert? Lake Annette looks closed. Other two look open. Small fish hard to tell species are around the edge of Beauvert.

Ok. I heard that there is rainbow trout, brook trout, bull trout, pike, mountain whitefish and lake whitefish in Lac Bouvert.

So crystal clear... I suspect they are all nervous.

Can't find lac Beauvert saying closed in regs. Jasper fishing store says it is open.

Lots of fish and the ones you listed are true. But because that lake connects directly to the river via underground waterways conditions can be very different year to year. Fishing is difficult at best there but very rewarding when it goes well. Popular dive lake, they see monsters all the time. Think small and you'll go big.

I have dived in Beauvert several times. There are some nice 2-3 pounders in there. I am not sure what species they are.

The chironomids are really small but can get super dense for a couple of inches right below the surface. I think the trout just open their mouths and swim along at those times.

Oh, and there are leeches, big honkin scary leeches.

The water termperature is really weird because of the springs that gush water into the lake just off of the golf course ( the ones c town mentions). That spring water is super cold even in summer and I am sure affects any stratification that occurs in the water.

There is not much structure, but there are a few rock piles that rise above the loon poop bottom. Good piles to sit and watch things from and underwater perspective.

Don't think so...The fairies wouldn't wave the wand with lakers.
Interesting tho how that lake always seems to produce oddball fish.
I think it may be a case of JPL gorbs dropping things in the water

That makes sense I didn't realize the river connected to the lake! I'll have to give it a shot this summer maybe. We should hook up for a day of fishing this summer heff. I'll get Dana to arrange it! Haha

Interesting because I found other lakes in our national parks that were never stocked with Lakers and even parks doesn't know there are Lakers in them.
However there are lakes in close proximity that have Lakers.

Could birds be the fairy's ?

Maybe.
It is strange... I really don't see the motivation of a fish fairy to try and collect lakers and move them to a hike in lake that already has 3 or 4 fish species.
As far as Parks........ they really don't know which way is up as far as fish goes

sounds good digger!

Mountain Guy, Lac Beauvert is not a hike in lake, you drive to the lake via the Old Fort Point road.

I don't think the bucket biologist put the lakers in Moab, but it may be where they get their stocking fish from.
