Lakers were first stocked in Mona in 1950. Still a small population.

Lakers first planted in Pyramid in 1917 and of course still going strong.
Cutties added in 68..Never took but the Rainbows did.
Splake planted in 61..Never took.

No Splake in JNP but several lakes in BNP have reproducing Splake populations.

I wasn't aware Splake could reproduce.
Caught them years ago in Bow, upper river and Hector but haven't seen one in a long, long time.
The Lac Beauvert beauty probably came from Pyramid. I'm surprised it wasn't netted - PC probably thought it was a bull.

Yes Splake can reproduce.

The fish could have come via Pyramid but it could have come via the Athabasca. Would have been quite a junior but possible. If they could only talk..lol

I've never heard that splake can reproduce either.
Thought that's why they were a desirable fish because of their fast growing nature due to their inability to reproduce.
Isn't a splake 50/50 laker , brookie?
WHat would a splake's spawn be?
