Default Coyotes are Hard on Deer Populations

Just saw a Yote chase down and kill a Whitetail fawn. Anyone who doesn't think yotes are hard on the deer population doesn't really know how it works. In the suburbs and acreages around town they actually help keep the deer population for really taking off, which isn't all bad. They do however kill a ton of fawns in the spring and even full size deer are on the menu year round, especially in winters with deep snow.

Good thing Canada Goose has upped the price and demand for yote fur so much. Help keep these guys under control.

Agree, just need to do a internet search to see how vicious the smaller version of a wolf can be.

Seen one mangy, skinny and rib showing yote trotting along a field beside Highway 16 about an hour ago while I was coming back from a job in Veg. It looked rough.

Not just deer. The one area where I trap and call quite aggressively has had an explosion of sharptail grouse in the past few years.

Wife & I saw one some years back. Efficient, deadly killers on fawns. It was graphic!
