I compared my almost 40 year old Rockchucker to one a friend purchased a few years ago, even after so many years of use, it still has less clearance in the ram than the new one. All clearances in the new Rockchucker seem to be greater.

I have a Rockchucker that can’t make straight ammo for love nor money.

Take the ram out, coat the ram and bushings with multi purpose grease, reassemble, ram should not have any wobble after this.

Weird eh. You've got good quality dies I'm sure.

Great to see the forester coaxial rate high..never an issue...it is a loosely goosey floating press that just works great...but friends use the rockchucker and Lee with good success...

OP, thanks for posting.
Interesting information on more current single stage presses.

I am still using RCBS Big Max A4 presses that were manufactured in the early 1980s. The A4s are heavy duty "O" frame presses, frame access is 3 1/2" window width and 4 13/16' window height. Lots of room to manoeuvre your hands without obstruction. Ram is 1 1/4' diameter with 4 1/4' of stroke. Presses are line bored and reamed for absolute concentricity between ram and dies. Press frame with automatic shell holder installed weigh a little over 22 pounds without the handle attached. Truly a heavy duty press.

Presses came with automatic shell holders and shell holder adapters, ram priming units, knurled pin tool to remove automatic shell holder/shell holder adapter and primer cups to catch spent primers. A reloading press ahead of it's time. A4s will do everything that I need.
